The International Court of Justice's (ICJ) ruling setting the maritime boundary between Peru and Chile will give a major boost and further deepen the two countries' strategic partnership, the Chilean-Peruvian Business Council has announced.
"We are convinced this ruling will broaden the economic conditions for a joint entrepreneurial thinking by enhancing commercial and investment ties," said the organization in an statement released Tuesday.

In that sense, the business council reaffirmed its will and commitment to the economic and social development of the two neighboring nations.

"This in the context of a strong bilateral relationship and a shared policy of integration into the global economy, in particular, firmly attached in the Pacific Alliance," the council noted.

Since its founding in November 2004, the Chilean-Peruvian Business Council's prime aim is to foster integration and economic and trade cooperation between the two South American countries.
