Peru exceeded expectations for potential business in France, arranging 321 meetings with professionals in the sector, with a potential business value of US$7,510,500 for the next 12 months, at the 44th edition of the IFTM Top Resa fair, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) has reported.

The Peruvian delegation was represented by 15 companies, including tour operators, hotels, and a railway line, from the regions of Cusco, Puno, and Lima.

They showcased the best of the tourist offerings from Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Loreto, Amazonas, Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Puno, Cusco, and Puerto Maldonado.

The interest of potential buyers revolved around segments such as culture, nature, adventure, gastronomy, and community tourism, with a focus on the purchase of group travel packages.

The delegation, led by PromPeru, participated in a working breakfast organized together with Air Europa, allowing a meeting with 35 tour operators.

This event was attended by Peruvian Ambassador to France Rolando Ruiz Rosas, PromPeru's Inbound Tourism Promotion Deputy Director Elva Yañez, and PromPeru's Commercial Office team in France.

Peruvian Booth

Dances, music, and tastings of chocolate, Pisco, and superfood-based snacks captured the attention of visitors, making the Peruvian booth one of the most colorful and attractive.

Similarly, a demonstration of hand-weaving techniques was performed by renowned Aymara master Jesus Candia, who explained this art —preserved in the Peruvian highlands— to the public.

Top Resa is the most important event in the tourism industry in France, and this edition saw the participation of 30,000 tourism professionals, showcasing 170 destinations and 1,400 participating brands.

Peru's presence at events of this magnitude is crucial for rebuilding consumer confidence and opens doors to the French commercial chain by showcasing the diverse tourism offerings of the destination on the international stage.

Strategic Alliances

PromPeru continues to build bridges with the private sector to boost the promotion of the Peruvian tourist destination and increase international arrivals.

Within this context, strategic alliances were formed with travel agencies Havas Voyages and Voyage Privé

The campaign includes the promotion of tourist attractions such as Misti and Machu Picchu in 180 Paris metro stations, the sale of tourist packages at promotional rates, training for operators, advertising in Paris Match magazine, banners in travel agencies, and social media promotion.

A publicity exposure of more than 140 million impressions is expected to be achieved through these alliances.
