The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir, will pay a visit to our country today.

Via its official Twitter account, the government agency indicated that this is the first visit of a Saudi minister to Peru at a bilateral level.

Likewise, it specified that this event will contribute to strengthening coordination for hosting the First Political Consultation Mechanism during the second half of 2022.

Furthermore, the ministry affirmed that investment opportunities in Peru in infrastructure, agro-exports, and the energy sector will be discussed.

Bilateral relations

Diplomatic relations between both countries were established on March 19, 1986.

The Embassy of Peru in Saudi Arabia started operations on June 1, 2012, and the Saudi Embassy in our country did the same in Lima on June 27, 2013.

As of November 2021, bilateral trade amounted to US$164.78 million. Saudi Arabia imports more than 85% of its food, and Peru is a renowned agricultural export power.
