The captain of Peru’s national football team Claudio Pizarro on Wednesday praised the attitude of his teammates in yesterday’s match against Chile and noted that “this is just beginning.”
“This is just beginning. We thank the support (of the fans) because it has been very important and we know it will continue. However, we remain calm because the attitude was great until the end of the game,” said Pizarro.
In statements to the press, Claudio Pizarro said that yesterday’s defeat against Chile will “cost” at the end, but it’s necessary to start thinking in the next opponent (Ecuador in Quito).
“We need to start thinking in the next match. We have a big heart and we have fought the entire game.”
On Tuesday evening, Chile beat a feisty Peruvian team 4-2 on matchday 2 of the FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
