on Tuesday stated that the government she leads will continue developing basic sanitation works so that water reaches the country's poorest areas.
The Head of State said that the event is an opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation around one of the planet's most valuable and life-giving resources.
"Our government thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting water resource management that is not only participatory but also inclusive and responsible. Therefore, at this summit, Peru will promote a roadmap with concrete actions and public policies aimed at improving the management of our water resources," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.
She added that this roadmap will emphasize the protection of water sources and the strengthening of coverage in coordination with local governments, communities, and international cooperation.
The president stressed that the challenge posed by water management requires urgent, coordinated, and forward-looking responses.
Therefore, she said, the time has come for countries to act with determination, responsibility, and resolve in this matter.
In that regard, Mrs. Boluarte stated that her government is serving the most underprivileged sectors by making long-awaited projects a reality, such as those that enable access to this basic resource.
"And we will continue ensuring that water, through basic sanitation works, reaches the humblest households," she emphasized.
The top official also stated that her government "does not work for the polls" and that they will continue focusing on improving Peruvians' quality of life and narrowing the country's poverty gap, without distractions.
"In the end, it will be history that recognizes the work we have done, and the public works will remain as a testament to our committed service to Peru, especially because we fulfill our duty without falling into that cancer that has corroded societies: corruption," she said.
