The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, said on Tuesday that Peru shows its true greatness when it stands united and when solidarity binds its people together, especially when the country faces a range of problems, making the nation stronger as a society.

This message was delivered during the launch of the Emergency and Rehabilitation Volunteer Program, held at the Government Palace Courtyard of Honor in Lima.

"Our country has always demonstrated its greatness in the face of problems, because when the country is united and solidarity binds us together, that is when we are better as a society. It is then that we have delivered our best results, in good times and bad—only united; that is the best way to work," he stated.

In that regard, the top official explained that when the Peruvian State and society work together, outcomes improve; therefore, this partnership must be strengthened "whatever it costs."

Likewise, the Head of State noted that bringing together experience and youth is equally important, as it is necessary to complement years of work with youth's vitality and energy.

"Today, we have a clear example of this, which is why we are enthusiastic about this program; however, it must be framed within other State actions, as this is a matter of State," he said.

At another point, the President said the new school curriculum for this year will be presented on February 26, once work on the National Citizen Security Plan has been completed.

"It is important to make the most of these spaces so that you are aware of the work being carried out," he added.
