16:26 | Lima, Jun. 12.

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday received in an audience the Presidents of the World Bank Group (WBG), Ajay Banga, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn, to whom she guaranteed legal stability for investment projects in the country.

At the meeting, President Boluarte and the heads of both institutions reiterated their commitment to continue working on projects to promote the development of Peruvians in areas such as health, education, housing, transportation, as well as water and sanitation.

The country's top official thanked the support that the World Bank and the IDB have provided to date, noting that they still see Peru as a country in which to invest, due to its development and growth.

"We want to continue counting on you to do what remains to be done, for example, to resolve the water and sewage issue across the country and to improve the quality of life of the population," the dignitary said after emphasizing her commitment to the fight against corruption.

According to the Peruvian President, millions of soles have been lost in previous administrations due to corruption and to the detriment of the country's progress.

In this regard, Mrs. Boluarte noted that her Government has the responsibility to address this problem and establish strong foundations in favor of education, health, highways, and agriculture.

For their part, the heads of the World Bank and the IDB agreed on the importance of the meeting with President Boluarte, to whom they expressed their alignment with Peru in addressing the country's challenges in economic, social, and even climate matters.

The World Bank, through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), has a portfolio of operations in Peru valued at US$1.663 billion, which is focused on financing investment projects in agriculture, environment, justice, production, health, sanitation, and transportation, among other fields.

On the other hand, the IDB has a portfolio of operations valued at US$2.664 billion for financing projects in the areas of transportation, sanitation, health, justice, and agriculture.
