The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, extended her congratulations today to the leader of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, on his reelection in the general elections held in that country. She also conveyed her greetings to the Brazilian people who participated in this democratic process.

In a message shared on her social media channels, the Peruvian leader advocated for the continued strategic partnership between Peru and Brazil.

“I congratulate President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his reelection and salute the Brazilian people for this democratic exercise. As we approach the bicentennial of our diplomatic relations, I reaffirm our commitment to strengthening our strategic alliance, integration, cooperation, and the sustainable development of the Amazon—which we share—for the benefit of both our peoples,” stated President Fujimori.

This Sunday, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva—nearly 81 years old—was reelected after defeating his rival, Flávio Bolsonaro.
