09:31 | Lima, oct. 20.

President of the Republic Keiko Fujimori is hosting her Ecuadorian counterpart, Daniel Noboa, at the Government Palace today for the Presidential Meeting and the 17th Binational Cabinet.

During the meeting, both leaders will discuss various topics on their shared agenda, with the goal of strengthening bilateral relations and deepening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Official proceedings will begin with a presidential meeting, and at the same time ministers from both countries will hold various bilateral meetings.

As part of the scheduled agenda, a ceremony will take place at the seat of the Executive branch to transfer the “pro tempore” presidency of the Andean Community (CAN) from Ecuador to Peru.

Following this, the plenary session of the Binational Cabinet will commence. Within this framework, the results of the 18th Peruvian-Ecuadorian Neighborhood Commission will be presented.

The Presidential Meeting and the 17th Binational Cabinet will conclude with a ceremony for the signing of the "Lima 2026 Presidential Declaration”.

Holding the Binational Cabinet in Lima is key to defining the development agenda for the border region and fostering mutual cooperation.

Peru and Ecuador maintain a fluid and dynamic dialogue, which has established the Presidential Meeting and Binational Cabinet as the highest-level mechanism for political coordination—a process that has seen 16 editions take place since 2007.
