Peru’s President Alan Garcia declared Saturday that the 87 million dollars investment made during the past four years is still insufficient, although he said the amount has increased over the past few years.

"I am not satisfied with the 250 billion soles (about 87 dollars) investment over the past four years; the amount is very low as compared to what the country is really capable of doing, but it is significant in comparison to the figures recorded in the past."

Such investment will be enough only until the country exploits every single kilowatt of electricity -currently lost for not taking advantage of rivers across the country- until making desert lands suitable for agriculture and better managing aquatic resources such as Peruvian anchoveta, which is used only for fish meal.

"Peru needs to make big plans and have major goals in each of these areas. Problems often arise when people sit around hoping for miracles instead of pursuing their ambition and audacity," he said.

However, the Peruvian Head of State noted that current investment levels in the country are possible because of the financial stability in the economy .
