on Tuesday stated that the Government will provide all guarantees to ensure that
is a success and that more Peruvians can see him and hear his message.
Speaking to the press in Lambayeque, northern Peru, the top official said the Executive Branch is coordinating the necessary support for the Holy Father's apostolic visit to Peru, scheduled for November 11–17, 2026.
"The Pope's visit is determined by the Vatican. What the Government does is provide all the guarantees and support necessary to ensure that the Pope's visit is a success and that the largest possible number of Peruvians can take part in the four regions he will visit," Fujimori stated.
During his stay, the Holy Father will visit the cities of Lima, Chiclayo (Lambayeque), Cusco, and Pucallpa (Ucayali). There, he will preside over liturgical celebrations, meet with authorities and various sectors of society, and spend time with the Peruvian people.
On another note, the President said she supports coordinating with other countries to take a firm stand against crime, as criminal organizations operate across borders.
"It is in our interest and a priority to be part of the Shield of the Americas, where we will be able to share information in order to fight this scourge (organized crime) that is plaguing the region," Fujimori stated after overseeing cleaning and desilting work on Reque River.
The President also said the Armed Forces and the National Police are receiving full support, which will produce results, but only by always working with strategy and intelligence.
At another point, the Head of State stressed that, following an assessment, they found a State stuck and constrained by bureaucracy.
However, it is now being revitalized to benefit people in the regions and move forward with water and sewerage projects.
She added that the public expects the Peruvian State to function again and operate efficiently.
Thus, her Government will bring the necessary projects to the national level, resulting in a greater State presence.
