The Vatican announced on Monday the official agenda for
Pope Leo XIV's visit to Peru, scheduled for November 11–16, 2026.
In this article, we detail the dates on which he will arrive in Chiclayo, Cusco, and Pucallpa, as well as his agenda in these cities and his visit to the town of Santa Cruz, in Cajamarca region, northern Andean Peru.
The schedule—set for Friday, November 13, through Sunday, November 15, 2026—includes stops in Chiclayo, Pimentel, Santa Cruz de Succhabamba, Zaña, Cusco, and Pucallpa, before the Holy Father's return to Lima.
Friday, Nov. 13: Activities begin in Chiclayo
The provincial leg of the visit will begin in Chiclayo, a northern city with strong ties to Leo XIV, where the Pope served as Bishop of the Diocese of Chiclayo from 2015 to 2023.
The deep affection Robert Prevost has for the faithful in Chiclayo was evident from the day he was elected Supreme Pontiff.
On that occasion, he delivered a heartfelt greeting to his beloved Diocese of Chiclayo in Peru during his first public appearance.
The visit to Chiclayo will begin at 7:40 a.m., when Pope Leo XIV departs from the Callao Naval Air Base for Lambayeque's capital.
His Holiness is scheduled to arrive at 9:10 a.m. at the Chiclayo Air Base "Teniente Coronel Pedro Ruiz Gallo."
At 10:30 a.m., the Holy Father will preside over Mass on the esplanade of Pampas de Pimentel, where he will deliver the homily. Around 1 million devotees are expected to gather at the site.
Later, at 12:40 p.m., he will make a private visit to the San Oscar A. Romero Chapel, where he will deliver a greeting.
The agenda will continue at 4:30 p.m., featuring a meeting with bishops, priests, religious men and women, seminarians, synodal teams, and pastoral councils at the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Paz (Shrine of Our Lady of Peace).
During this event, Leo XIV will deliver a speech to the participants.
At 5:45 p.m., the Supreme Pontiff will meet with members of the university community at Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo Catholic University, where he will also deliver a speech.
The first day will conclude at 7:00 p.m. with a dinner for the priests of the Diocese of Chiclayo at Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo School.
Saturday, Nov. 14: Marian celebration and meeting in Santa Cruz de Succhabamba
The second day will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the coronation ceremony of the Immaculate Virgin at the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Chiclayo. Pope Leo XIV will preside over the ceremony and deliver the homily.
At 9:10 a.m., he will depart by helicopter from the Chiclayo Air Base for Santa Cruz de Succhabamba, in Santa Cruz province, Cajamarca region, where he is expected to arrive at approximately 9:50 a.m.
One hour later, at 11:00 a.m., he will celebrate Mass on the esplanade of Santa Cruz de Succhabamba, followed by the homily.
The return to Chiclayo is scheduled for 1:15 p.m., arriving at the "Teniente Coronel Pedro Ruiz Gallo" Air Base at 2:00 p.m.
The day will conclude at 5:30 p.m., when the Holy Father will join the Catholic community for a prayer gathering at the Shrine of Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo.
The event will take place on the occasion of the closing of Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo's Jubilee Year, marking the 300th anniversary of his canonization.
The Holy Father will deliver a speech.
Sunday, Nov. 15: Cusco, Pucallpa, and return to Lima
The final day of activities will begin at 7:50 a.m., when Pope Leo XIV departs from Chiclayo for Cusco. He is scheduled to arrive at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport at 10:00 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., he will meet with the faithful and representatives of popular piety at the Sacsayhuaman National Archaeological Park, where he will deliver a speech.
Later, at 11:45 a.m., he will lead the Angelus prayer at the square of the Basilica Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The visit will continue in the Peruvian Amazon. At 1:05 p.m., the Supreme Pontiff will depart from Cusco for Pucallpa and land at Capitan FAP David Abensur Rengifo International Airport at 2:30 p.m.
At 3:00 p.m., Leo XIV will participate in a gathering with male and female missionaries and representatives of Amazonian peoples at the Puerto Callao Boardwalk, where he will deliver a speech.
At 4:45 p.m., he will celebrate Mass at the Ucayali Regional Sports Village, where he will deliver the homily.
Finally, at 7:05 p.m., the Pope will depart from Pucallpa for Lima. He is scheduled to arrive at the Callao Naval Air Base at 8:20 p.m., concluding his pastoral tour of three regions of the country.
Three regions and an agenda focused on community
The schedule includes three days of activities and travel among the northern coast, the Andes, and the Amazon, with a strong emphasis on religious celebrations and meetings with local communities.
The itinerary combines liturgical events—such as Masses, the coronation of the Immaculate Virgin, and the recitation of the Angelus—alongside opportunities for dialogue aimed at specific groups, including university students, Church representatives, missionaries, Amazonian peoples, and the faithful involved in popular piety.
Due to its geographic scope, the schedule also entails a major logistical operation, given the air travel among Lima, Chiclayo, Santa Cruz de Succhabamba, Cusco, and Pucallpa over the three-day visit.
