has affirmed that fellow citizens repatriated from Ukraine and other countries receive assistance from the Ministry.
The diplomat indicated that so far 31 people have been repatriated to Peru, adding that 3 more Peruvian nationals are expected to arrive on March 13, while up to 4 people could be arriving on March 15.
The official explained it is not possible to return in large groups given the sensitivity of the situation.
"Last night, 15 people arrived (in Peru), of whom 9 came from Warsaw; a baby girl and two cats arrived with this family, the wife is Ukrainian. In addition, 9 citizens arrived from Russia; the consul brought them from various cities in Russia," she told
Andina news agency last Friday.
Ambassador Masana indicated that so far all returnees have arrived in good health. There was only the case of a Ukrainian woman (the wife of a Peruvian citizens), who arrived with high blood pressure.
In this sense, the diplomat explained that another issue of concern is that of emotional and psychological health —both of returnees and their relatives in Peru.
Given this, the ambassador pointed out that helpline 116 option 5 has been enabled, so that they can receive support in this regard.
"They can also receive attention via Zoom or attend centers run by the Ministry of Health at the national level," she added.
On the other hand,
Ambassador Masana mentioned that some compatriots also decide to stay in some European Union countries. Thus, they have initiated the steps so that these countries can accept their stay for more than 90 days in their territories because it is a humanitarian issue.
