Peru’s National Police officers began their security task to protect voting stations nationwide during the regional, municipal elections and the national referendum on the proposed bill to return Fonavi funds.

The National Police of Peru (PNP) today will mobilize and deploy 77,000 officers to monitor the electoral process.

Patrol agents will support Peruvian authorities for a secure distribution of electoral materials in about 4,000 voting centers throughout the country.

Police troops picked up electoral material from printers in Lima and delivered it to Jorge Chavez International Airport and ground transport agencies for nationwide distribution.
