The Minister of Foreign Affairs Cesar Landa on Monday met with the
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.
The meeting took place at Torre Tagle Palace —the main headquarters of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs— within the framework of her official visit to the South American nation.
The High Commissioner is due to meet with senior officials from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government.
Moreover, she will hold meetings with representatives of civil society and indigenous peoples, human rights defenders, private sector actors, and members of the international community.
Michelle Bachelet will hold a press conference in Lima at the end of her mission, on Wednesday, July 20, at 10:30 a.m. (local time).
Access to the news conference will be strictly limited to accredited media.
