The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, held a phone call with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Daniel Noboa, on Tuesday, ahead of their meeting at the 16th Peru–Ecuador Binational Cabinet set to take place in Quito on December 12.

Within this framework, the Peruvian Head of State has requested authorization from Congress to travel to Ecuador, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.

This initiative aims to represent the country and advance the joint agenda on security, border development, and cooperation between the two nations.

Previously, the top official met with the mayors from various districts in the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM) to boost key economic activities for the development of this area, such as agriculture, tourism, among others.

The need to improve public services available to over 500,000 VRAEM residents was addressed as well.
