The Peruvian film production company Bamboo Pictures will kick off 2026 with the film “Back to the 80s,” an eighties comedy that celebrates memories and collective memory, which will premiere in Peruvian theaters on January 15.
In February, “Adorable Cupid” will premiere, adding to the list of productions from the Peruvian company, which aims to develop fictional audiovisual content that generates social impact.
The company's producer and director, Alex Hidalgo, emphasizes that Bamboo Pictures has positioned itself as a leader in discovering new talent.
Since the premiere of his first film made in Peru in 2013, Hidalgo's productions have been screened at special international events in the United States, Japan, Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Spain, Bolivia, Argentina, and China, earning him recognition for his contribution to promoting Peruvian culture worldwide.
Among his notable productions are *Sueños de gloria* (Dreams of Glory) and *El gran criollo* (The Great Creole), both of which received recognition from the United Nations on two occasions.
Likewise, “Vaguito” (Little Vagabond), a film about a rescued dog who later demonstrated unwavering loyalty to his rescuer, not only became the most successful film of 2024 in Peru but also a social phenomenon.
