The Defense sector, through the 10th Contingent of the Peru Engineering Company, took part in a civic action that provided healthcare services and joyful moments to the community of Gazi‑Béa, in the heart of Central Africa, as part of the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission.

Specialized medical personnel from the Blue Helmets participated in this activity alongside contingents from various countries, providing care to men, women, and children of all ages in vulnerable situations.

In addition to medical evaluations across various specialties, the children enjoyed other recreational activities organized by their fellow countrymen.

"In every smile and hug received, our personnel demonstrated Peru's deep commitment to international humanitarian aid and the mission to build a more dignified future," the Peruvian Ministry of Defense (Mindef) underscored.

The 10th Contingent of the Peru Engineering Company is made up of 220 members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Its main mission is focused on carrying out repair and maintenance work on airfields, roads, and bridges.

The contingent also includes specialists in explosive ordnance disposal and minefield clearance, among other engineering tasks.

"Through actions like this, the Ministry of Defense reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting the humanitarian work of our Armed Forces in peacekeeping missions, bringing hope and well-being to the most vulnerable populations," the government agency indicated.
