Peruvian agro-exports reached a historic record by surpassing US$15 billion in 2025, marking an 18.3% increase from the previous year,
This event was attended by Ministers Cesar Quispe (Production) and Felipe Meza (Agrarian Development and Irrigation).
The government official emphasized that, following the historic record posted in 2025, the sector has maintained a positive trajectory in 2026.
"In the first four months of the year, agro-exports grew by 7.3%, driven by products such as avocados, blueberries, grapes, and coffee," he added.
The result achieved in 2025 was driven by higher shipment volumes of coffee, cacao, and its derivatives, as well as fruit, which continue to consolidate their leadership and bring Peru closer to the goal of positioning itself among the world's top five exporters of fresh fruits.
It should be noted that 81% of agro-exports originated in regions outside the capital, boosting employment, opportunities, and development.
In that context, the United States and the European Union accounted for nearly 65% of Peruvian agro-exports, reflecting international markets' confidence in Peruvian export supply.
Moreover, the minister reaffirmed Mincetur's commitment to continue promoting the internationalization of Peruvian companies and the development of an increasingly competitive export supply, as well as to fostering coordinated work among regional governments, the private sector, and academia.
The Cabinet member highlighted the tools provided by the National Multisectoral Foreign Trade Policy to 2040 for harnessing trade opportunities better.
He also underscored the multisectoral Export Productive Route strategy, which provides free training and technical assistance to more than 600 organizations and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in 22 Peruvian regions.
Gomez highlighted that the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PromPeru) has an agenda to promote the agro-export supply and facilitate the participation of Peruvian companies in major international trade fairs.
The fifth edition of Agrofest is being held at the Peruvian Sports Institute's (IPD) Videna in Lima's San Luis district from July 1 to 3.
