His remarks were shared in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter), in which he also expressed his solidarity with the family and colleagues of Peruvian Navy's Technician Third Class, Edgar Tiburcio, who died confronting terrorist remnants during military operations carried out in the VRAEM.

"I express deep solidarity with the family and comrades-in-arms of Peruvian Navy's Technician Third Class Edgar Tiburcio Espinoza, who gave his life defending Peru and fighting against terrorist remnants in the VRAEM," the Cabinet chief wrote.

"At this moment, our joint special forces continue to operate in the area, with the support of the Air Operational Command and the VRAEM Special Command, in addition to the participation of a Public Ministry representative," he stated.

"We will fight until the pacification of the VRAEM is achieved!" he added.

According to information provided by the Joint Command of the Armed Forces (CCFFAA), joint military operations in the VRAEM area have been intensified since early on Monday with the aim of "neutralizing the camps of the main force of the terrorist organization Shining Path."
