The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday indicated that more than 180 wanted individuals were arrested and over 60 criminal gangs were dismantled during the state of emergency declared in some districts of Lima and Callao.

"This situation is very complex, but we are going to win the battle," Mrs. Boluarte expressed. "We will not give in one inch to vile crime," she added.

Likewise, the Head of State emphasized the importance of developing the fight against crime in unity.

"Let us be one against crime," Mrs. Boluarte said. "They want us divided. We will not allow it: we will move forward as we have done before," she expressed.

Within this framework, the top official called on the corresponding judicial authorities to also act effectively against criminals.

"We need to work with justice authorities to ensure that criminals do not return to the streets," she stated.

During the opening of the 'Peru Travel Mart' event, the president said her government is committed to reactivating Peru's economy and activities such as tourism, fostering the country's growth and safeguarding citizen security.

Mrs. Boluarte indicated that "a Safe Plan is underway" aimed at achieving this goal.

This —she added— is complemented by the Operations Safe Dawn, Safe Return, and Genesis, developed by the Peruvian National Police.
