The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Tuesday received the Chairman of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, Norbert Lammert, at the Government Palace.

At the meeting, Lammert spoke about the work carried out by the above-mentioned German institution in Peru.

For her part, the Head of State highlighted the policy of development with a humane face proposed by the Peruvian Government for the Amazonia and the challenges that arise in the fight against drug trafficking, human trafficking, illegal logging, and illegal mining.

"We have an economy that is sustainable, and we provide a guarantee for investors," the dignitary remarked.

The meeting also featured Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi, German Ambassador to Peru Sabine Bloch, as well as members of the German Parliament Peter Rachel and Thomas Beyer.

The Konrad-Adenauer Foundation has been working in Peru for more than 50 years with the main goal of strengthening the democratic system, the rule of law and institutions in the country, as well as promoting the introduction of the social market economy in Peru.

Likewise, it seeks to promote constructive dialogue among political, religious, economic and civil society actors, promoting the construction of a pluralistic society based on respect for human rights.

It also encourages a responsible use of new technologies, taking advantage of the communication opportunities of digitization to achieve a more participatory democracy that is closer to citizens.
