During a meeting with the National Society of Performers on Wednesday, President Jose Jeri announced that the Interior Ministry, along with the security team, is preparing measures in response to the safety challenges faced by artists.

"I fully understand the concern, which is shared in light of what happened with Agua Marina (music group). Regarding this, the current Minister of Interior is precisely preparing measures with the security team," Mr. Jeri stated.

Over the coming days, a tactical emergency plan will be developed with a sense of urgency to address the main problem currently being faced, he noted during a meeting with the National Society of Performers (Soniem).

The Head of State said that the Executive Branch is committed to addressing, on a sector-by-sector basis, the proposals put forward by the performers.

The top official added that he is convinced of the importance of developing the music industry, which is fundamental for the country.

"From the first technical-level meeting with the relevant sectors, which are just starting to take up duties, we can project, see what can be done, and lay the foundations moving forward, as the transitional government that we are," he expressed.

Mr. Jeri said that within the music industry there are issues that are cross-cutting or linked to the initiatives put forward by performers, on which the Legislative Branch must also have a role.

"I would ask that, based on that first meeting, you allow me to coordinate with the relevant sectors to project these issues, which are certainly important, so that we can have more concrete responses and expand the interventions and sectors involved, making it a multi-sector effort among the Legislative, the Executive (Branches), and the civil society sector," he stated.

Within this framework, the President reiterated that security will be the first issue on which they will be informed, and, secondly, the development of the industry itself.

"In difficult times, like now, there are interests that seek to sow divisiveness. On my part, there will be none. I will not fall into the game that some would like," he concluded.

The meeting took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
