The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday said he hopes that Parliament's next Board members will walk together with his administration and meet the nation's main needs.

In statements to reporters, the Head of State assured that he is respectful of the independence of powers and does not interfere in Parliament matters —such as the election of its new board.

"Everyone is responsible for their actions; as a Government we are meeting the major needs of the country," he said.

Similarly, the top official greeted the press and announced that coordination will be made to convene its members and respond to their queries.

Regarding the investigation opened against him at the Attorney General's Office, the Head of State affirmed that "there are authorities who do their job, and we do ours (…) each of the sectors has a role or path for which they must respond."

Furthermore, the President announced that he will visit La Libertad region this Friday to address the demands of said jurisdiction in northern Peru.

Remarks were made after participating in a meeting with Education Minister Rosendo Serna and representatives of regional directorates of Education.

There, Mr. Castillo highlighted the need to work together for open admission to universities and the new school curriculum, respecting teachers' voices and the different realities of Peru.

In addition, he stated that his Government emerged from the provinces and regions.
