The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday stated that her administration promotes a highly employable citizenry, protected in their labor rights, with the goal of contributing to a sustainable and inclusive environment in the country.

During the inauguration of the 2025 Employment Fair, Mrs. Boluarte emphasized that this event is tangible proof that the Executive Branch is working to generate quality employment and facilitate access to job opportunities.

"Our government promotes that our citizens be highly employable, protected in their labor rights, and able to thrive in an environment that contributes to a sustainable and inclusive country," she stated.

The President explained that employment fairs and job openings have been essential in connecting Peruvian citizens with companies from various sectors, while the 2025 Employment Fair also offers procedures, guidance, and advisory support.

"During 2024, in Metropolitan Lima, we held over 253 employment events, successfully placing more than 26,000 Peruvians in jobs," she added.

The top official highlighted that efforts to increase job opportunities have yielded results, as in the quarter from 2024 to January 2025, the employed population in Lima grew by more than 3%, surpassing 5 million people.

Furthermore, adequate employment increased by 12%, and the average monthly income rose by over 10%.

"These numbers are not just statistics; they represent the positive impact of policies on thousands of Peruvians. However, we cannot ignore that informal employment remains a problem affecting workers' quality of life and business productivity, as it prevents access to basic services," she added.

Moreover, she stated that this year will mark the country's economic consolidation, which can be achieved "through everyone's efforts," aiming for growth above 4%.

"We must continue promoting peaceful investment, as this is the only way we can grow. In unity and peace, investors will trust our country more, bringing more jobs and opportunities," she concluded.
