During the meeting, Peru's top official stated that the fight against transnational organized crime is a Government priority due to its serious impact on citizen security, democratic governance, and sustainable development.
In this context, she underscored the need to strengthen information sharing, institutional capacities, and international cooperation in combating crimes such as extortion, contract killings, drug trafficking, illegal mining, corruption, human trafficking, and illicit arms trade.
The Head of State underscored the importance of promoting orderly, regular, and safe migration, as well as strengthening cooperation among countries of origin, transit, and destination.
The top official also emphasized the need to improve the identification and documentation of migrants to effectively prevent human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
At another point, the President expressed her appreciation for the prevention, preparedness, and anticipatory measures being carried out by nine UN system agencies in response to the 2026–2027 El Niño phenomenon, with particular emphasis on Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, and La Libertad regions.
Prior to the meeting, President Fujimori signed the United Nations guest book.
