Peru: President congratulates Noboa for victory in Ecuador's election

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte has congratulated candidate Daniel Noboa for winning the presidential election in Ecuador, adding that Peru hopes to continue strengthening bilateral relations with this neighboring country.

Via social media on Sunday night, the Peruvian Head of State highlighted the electoral process which took place in Ecuador yesterday.

"On behalf of the Government and the people of Peru, I congratulate Mr. Daniel Noboa for his victory in the presidential election, as well as the Ecuadorian people for their democratic participation," Mrs. Boluarte indicated.

The top official renewed the broadest will to continue strengthening the relationship of friendship, cooperation, and integration between Peru and Ecuador, reminding citizens that both countries commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Brasilia Peace Accords this year.


35-year-old businessman Daniel Noboa was proclaimed as winner of the extraordinary presidential election in Ecuador by defeating Luisa Gonzalez in the runoff.  Gonzalez was endorsed by former President Rafael Correa in the race.

Noboa has so far obtained 52.01% of valid votes versus 47.99% by Gonzalez. At this stage, the result is irreversible.
