Peru's Head of State attends presidential inauguration in Ecuador

The President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, took part in the presidential inauguration ceremony of Daniel Noboa at the National Assembly of Ecuador on Saturday.

According to the post, the top official's attendance at the ceremony "is key to bilateral relations with the Ecuadorian nation."

The Peruvian Head of State arrived in the city of Quito, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer, this morning to take part in Mr. Noboa's inauguration ceremony.

On the eve of her trip, the top official stated that her visit to Ecuador would reaffirm the strong bond that Peru maintains with the Ecuadorian people.

"He is the president of a neighboring country with which we have enjoyed decades of peace," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

"It is important to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the brotherly people of Ecuador. Thank you to the members of Congress who support the country's development," she added.

The top official stated that with President Noboa, cooperation in trade, energy, the fight against illegal mining, and border protection would continue to be strengthened; in addition, a roadmap was signed to preserve the Puyango-Tumbes River basin.
