on Saturday affirmed that the results obtained at the Peru-Bolivia Presidential Meeting and VI Binational Ministerial Cabinet will lead towards progress in the bilateral relationship.
During the Presidential Joint Declaration signing ceremony, the Head of State indicated that the meeting —which brought together State ministers from both countries— was successful.
"We have just successfully held the VI Binational Cabinet, whose results in the four areas of work will enable us to continue making progress on the strengthening and deepening of our mutual agreements and bilateral relations, placing special emphasis on improving the living conditions of the inhabitants on both sides of our borders," he expressed.
Likewise, the top official specified that citizens of Peru and Bolivia will know how to value the progress and commitments made in terms of joint management, with a sustainable environmental approach on Lake Titicaca basin, as well as the development of the Andean high plateau and the Amazonia.
Besides, it will contribute to the strengthening of trade and tourism bonds; the facilitation of the transit of people, goods, and services; education; as well as the fight against transnational crimes such as drug trafficking, illegal mining, and smuggling.
"These are permanent commitments which reflect the strong and unique ties uniting Peru and Bolivia," he affirmed after receiving the Grand Collar of the Order of the Condor of the Andes —the highest recognition granted by the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
In this regard, he said the decoration bears a name familiar to both countries, which adds a special and great meaning to this recognition.
It must be noted that 10 bilateral agreements were signed in various sectors during the ceremony held at La Casa Grande del Pueblo (The Great House of the People).
