The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo arrived in the Brazilian city of Porto Velho on Thursday to hold a meeting with Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro.

On this occasion, the Head of State was joined by First Lady Lilia Paredes.

The meeting aims to strengthen the process of integration and cooperation between the two countries, in favor of the development of populations based in the common border.

It will be held at Palacio Rio Madeira in Porto Velho, Rondonia State.

At the site, the leaders will address issues comprised in the bilateral agenda, such as multimodal connection, trade, and access to markets.

Similarly, they will discuss border cooperation in defense, security, as well as technical and humanitarian aspects, and to face the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will be the first meeting between presidents of Peru and Brazil in nine years.
