The Executive Branch will request Congress legislative powers in terms of economic reactivation, Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The bill —which will be submitted to the Legislative Branch— was approved at today's Council of Ministers session to officialize the request for delegation of powers.

"As we have already reported and reiterated, our priorities as a Government are economic reactivation and citizen security; we will request legislative powers in order to issue regulations on this matter," he indicated.

The Cabinet chief explained that the Executive Branch's proposal involves more than 90 measures, which have to do with simplification and management of services, fiscal balance, penitentiary criminology policy, security, and defense, among others.

State of emergency extended

The Prime Minister announced that the Council of Ministers approved extending the state of emergency in several districts of the following regions: Ancash, Apurimac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huancavelica, Huanuco, La Libertad, Lima, Loreto, Moquegua, and Puno.

He underscored that, thanks to the actions undertaken in coordination with regions, the number of districts declared in state of emergency was reduced from 130 to 100.

In the case of regions, the figure decreased from 17 to 12.
