Prime Minister Denisse Miralles expressed optimism that lawmakers will grant a vote of confidence to the Cabinet she leads and said State ministers are demonstrating they are at the service of this country and addressing what matters most to Peruvians.

The high-ranking official made these remarks after participating in the forum "United Against Anemia: Transformative Partnerships in OxI (Works for Taxes)," held at a hotel in the capital, Lima.

"We are preparing (our presentation) and trusting that members of Congress will give this Cabinet the vote of confidence, because from the very beginning it has shown it is at the service of the country and addressing what matters most," Miralles stated.

"What matters most is that Peruvians can feel safe and go calmly to the electoral process that will take place next month," she added.

The Cabinet chief indicated that the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) has already signed the official letters to arrange meetings with congressional groups ahead of her presentation at a plenary session.

In that regard, the minister explained that they set "total flexibility" regarding the date for these meetings, which, according to the schedule, could conclude during the coming week.

As a reminder, the Cabinet led by Denisse Miralles will appear before Congress' plenary on March 18. There, she will present the government's general policy and request a vote of confidence.

Gas supply

Asked about gas supply following the incident at KP43 in Megantoni district (Cusco region), which is affecting the population, the Prime Minister said the priorities are to restore gas distribution, prioritizing households and strategic industries.

The government's spokeswoman also explained that what occurred in the affected area is being determined in order to identify responsibilities.

Likewise, the Cabinet chief said she expects the service to be restored in less than 14 days, adding that daily follow-up is being conducted on the actions taken.
