18:47 | Lima, Nov. 6.

Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola on Monday emphasized that the Government of President Dina Boluarte has clean hands, adding that it will work with professionalism, responsibility, and accountability.

Moreover, the Cabinet chief pointed out that the Executive Branch is respectful of the work done by the press and that it is open to providing the necessary explanations.

His remarks were made at a press conference following a session of the Council of Ministers.

"We are very clear about what we have to do. Consequently, we greatly respect journalism, the press, investigative tasks, and Sunday news shows that constantly talk about the ministries," the Prime Minister said.

In this regard and when asked about a report issued last Sunday, which questioned the meetings that President Boluarte's brother, Nicanor Boluarte, would have with other authorities, the head of the Ministerial Cabinet noted that the Executive Branch will always provide the corresponding explanations.

Furthermore, Otarola confirmed that Peru is under a democratic regime that scrupulously respects freedom of the press and that "strictly adheres to the rectitude in the decisions they make."

On the other hand, he mentioned that an economic reactivation plan was discussed during the session held today, noting that it will consider the opinions from representatives of business associations so as to propose a series of measures to promote economic growth.

Likewise, the high-ranking official stated that today's council of ministers session reviewed reports about preventive works carried out in light of the arrival of El Niño, such as cleaning and clearing works in different areas, highlighting the progress made in Piura region.
