The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday affirmed that international cooperation is a key resource for fulfilling goals in various critical areas, with the recovery of the economy and citizen security, thereby achieving sound and equitable development in Peru.

"International cooperation thus appears to be a key resource for fulfilling our goals in these critical areas, fostering more sound and equitable development in the country," she stated.

The Head of State reminded attendees that her Government is focused on carrying out sectoral and multisectoral actions aimed at economic recovery and strengthening citizen security.

In that sense, the top official affirmed that greater resources will be channeled towards specific projects which contribute to building safe and resilient communities.

Similarly, Mrs. Boluarte explained that international cooperation "is also an essential component for Peru to advance in the process of accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)."

"It is a pending challenge, not only consolidating cooperation resources for the benefit of citizens but also positioning Peru as a country that offers technical cooperation in line with our foreign policy objectives and the process of accession to the OECD," she stated.

The president affirmed that Peru "is a reliable partner in the international arena, and we assume the responsibility of cooperating with other countries through south-south cooperation or triangular model so as to strengthen ties with friendly nations, as well as to contribute from our experience and strength."

"International technical cooperation represents a key piece in strengthening multilateralism as an articulated response from the international community to the development agenda's main challenges, with the permanent objective of improving people's quality of life, without leaving anyone behind," she added.

Mrs. Boluarte indicated that the National Policy for International Technical Cooperation by 2030 is the main instrument for international technical cooperation management in our country, with mandatory scope for State-run entities at every level of Government.

"This instrument seeks that actions be carried out which consolidate the efficacy of international cooperation in accordance with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda," she concluded.
