The high-ranking officials welcomed the restoration of diplomatic relations between Peru and Mexico, as well as the progress made since then.
These advances include the accreditation of chargés d'affaires in their respective capitals, the granting of agrément to Mexico's new ambassador to Peru, and the resumption of operations by the embassies in Lima and Mexico City.
Likewise, the dignitaries underscored the outcomes of the first bilateral meeting held on August 20 between their respective deputy ministers.
In this regard, the Cabinet members welcomed the importance of reactivating, in the short term, the pending bilateral political and technical mechanisms.
Similarly, they expressed their interest in establishing new high-level dialogue forums.
Additionally, Espa and Velasco highlighted the dynamism of bilateral trade, as well as the reciprocal interest of both countries in continuing to increase investment between the two nations.
Finally, they reaffirmed their commitment to working together to continue promoting the Pacific Alliance's principles and objectives ahead of Peru assuming the Pro-Tempore Presidency, scheduled for December.
