Peru's FA Min arrives in Switzerland to attend WEF annual meeting

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea has arrived in Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024, which will take place at Davos-Klosters from January 15 to 19, under the motto “Rebuilding trust.”

As part of his agenda, the Peruvian minister will hold meetings with high-ranking authorities and global leaders with the aim of positioning Peru as an attractive destination for responsible investment and a reliable partner that actively works to promote sustainable development.
 
The government official will speak on high-level panels addressing leadership in the Pacific region, the promotion of a global treaty on plastics, climate finance and investment in the Amazon, and the restoration of confidence in the global system.
 
Moreover, the participation of Gonzalez-Olaechea will provide the opportunity to position our country's leadership as host of the APEC Forum in 2024 and to reaffirm Peru's commitment to its accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

The Foreign Affairs sector's head will be accompanied by the Permanent Representative of Peru, Ambassador Luis Chuquihuara.

The WEF Annual Meeting, organized for over 50 years now, represents a global platform where the main international organizations, multinational companies, governments, civil society, academia and the media interact at the highest level on issues of great importance in global political, economic, social, and environmental spheres.
