Peru's Central Reserve Bank (BCR) launched Wednesday a new series of one sol coin called "Recursos Naturales del Peru" (Natural Resources of Peru).
The newly released coins depict three natural resources that include anchovy, cacao and quinoa.
The coins are legal tender and can be used for any transaction. They will enter in circulation alongside the current one sol coins.
The BCR has minted ten million coins for each coin design.
This is the second numismatic series launched by BCR, the first one is called “Riqueza y Orgullo del Peru” (Wealth and Pride of Peru).
