Peruvian Ambassador to the Republic of Türkiye, Luz Betty Caballero, presented her credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during an official ceremony held recently at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

Following the protocol ceremony, the Peruvian diplomat held a meeting with the Head of State.

At the gathering, both highlighted the strong state of bilateral relations, as well as the friendship and cooperation ties developed over 76 years of diplomatic relations.

During the dialogue, they agreed to strengthen bilateral relations across various areas, with particular emphasis on economic and trade ties.

"The promotion of trade, investment, tourism, and air connectivity will have a prominent place on the shared agenda of Peru and Türkiye," the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

As part of her official activities, Ambassador Caballero also attended a ceremony honoring Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder and first President of the Republic of Türkiye, held at the mausoleum in Ankara.

On that occasion, she laid a wreath, signed the book of honor, and toured the site museum.

Peru and Türkiye established diplomatic relations in 1950.

Since 2010, both countries have maintained embassies in their respective capitals.
