The timeline sets deadlines and key dates that must be observed by political parties and electoral system bodies. It also serves as a reference for public information.
This electoral process will allow Peruvians to go to the polls to elect the next President of the Republic, Vice Presidents, senators, Deputies, and Representatives to the Andean Parliament.
The calendar —approved through Resolution No. 0126-2025-JNE and signed by all members of the plenary— was drafted based on the current electoral regulations, including the latest amendments made by the Congress of the Republic.
April 12, 2025, was the deadline for political parties to secure their registration in the JNE’s Political Organizations Registry (ROP) in order to participate in these elections. A total of 43 parties secured their registration.
Likewise, the deadline to request the formation of electoral alliances expired on August 2.
The electoral alliances that submitted requests are: Unidad Nacional (National Unity), Ahora Nacion (Now Nation), Fuerza y Libertad (Strength and Liberty), Venceremos (We Will Overcome), and the Frente de los Trabajadores y Emprendedores (Workers and Entrepreneurs Front). In total, these alliances bring together 11 political organizations.
Meanwhile, September 1 marked the final deadline for electoral alliances to complete their registration.

This marks the closing of the electoral roll, managed by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec).
November 30, 2025: Primary Elections
Date of the primary elections and the selection of delegates from political organizations.
December 7, 2025: Delegate-Based Candidate Selection
This date marks the selection of candidates through delegate voting.
December 23, 2025: Deadline to Submit Candidate Registration Requests
This is the final date to submit applications for the registration of presidential tickets and candidate lists.
On this day, the JNE's Political Organizations Registry (ROP) also closes, in accordance with the Law on Political Organizations (Article 4).
March 13, 2026: Deadline for Objections and Appeals on Candidacies
Final date to resolve appeals related to the exclusion of candidates and objections to their nominations.
March 14, 2026: Final Date for Candidate Registration
This is the deadline for all candidacies to be officially registered.
April 12 and June 7, 2026: Election Dates
The general elections will be held on April 12, 2026, with a potential runoff for the presidential race scheduled for June 7 of the same year.
