Peru's 2026 Elections: Technical Debate held in Lima

The technical debate between the teams of Fuerza Popular (Popular Force Party) and Juntos por el Peru (Together for Peru Party) was held Sunday evening, featuring the main proposals of the parties that advanced to the June 7 runoff.

With this stage completed, the path is now clear for the debate between presidential candidates Keiko Fujimori and Roberto Sanchez, scheduled for May 31 at Lima Convention Center in San Borja district.

The technical debate was held at the National Elections Board (JNE) headquarters in Lima's Jesus Maria district. It lasted more than two hours.

The technical representatives of the political organizations debated six thematic blocks in the following order:

State reform

Sinesio Lopez (Juntos por el Peru) opened the debate, followed by Vladimiro Huaroc (Fuerza Popular).


Youth and sports

Rosangella Barbaran (Fuerza Popular) began the segment, followed by Ernesto Zunini (Juntos por el Peru).


Agriculture and environment

Cesar Guarniz (Juntos por el Peru) opened the segment, followed by Marco Vinelli (Fuerza Popular).


Infrastructure

Carlos Neuhaus (Fuerza Popular) opened the segment, followed by Gustavo Guerra-Garcia (Juntos por el Peru).


Economy and job creation

Pedro Francke (Juntos por el Peru) began the segment, followed by Luis Carranza (Fuerza Popular).


Health

Jose Recoba (Fuerza Popular) opened the segment, followed by Hernando Cevallos (Juntos por el Peru).


The order of the topics and presentations by the political organizations was determined through a public drawing held on May 21.
