Peru's 2022 Lima mayor elections: Lopez Aliaga 25.951%; Urresti 25.582% (ONPE at 70.381%)

The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) on Monday continued to release official results of the Regional and Municipal Elections held nationwide last Sunday —at 70.381% of Metropolitan Lima ballots counted.

Within this framework, Rafael Lopez Aliaga (Popular Renewal) obtained 25.951% of votes, while Daniel Urresti (We can Peru) received 25.582%.

Additionally, George Forsyth (We are Peru) received 18.962%, followed by Elizabeth Leon (Front of Hope), 11.000%; Omar Chehade (Alliance for Progress), 6.973%; Gonzalo Alegria (Together for Peru), 6.277%; Maria Elena Soto (Go on Country), 3.737%; and Yuri Castro (Free Peru), 1.518%.

According to the ONPE, this result is linked to citizen participation at 78.686%.

The Regional and Municipal Elections

More than 24 million Peruvians were eligible to elect 13,032 authorities in 25 regions, 196 provincial municipalities, and 1,694 district municipalities throughout the country.

Voting was held between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., according to the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).
