The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) is working intensively to create the conditions that will allow general elections —scheduled for April 11, 2021— to harmonize citizens's constitutional right to vote with public health, ONPE Chief Piero Corvetto affirmed on Sunday.

He noted that Peru's electoral office is working hard to achieve said objectives by complying with the protocols to ensure a safe voting process.

"ONPE has been working hard to create the conditions to hold April 11 elections by reconciling the constitutional right to vote with public health. If we comply with the protocols, we can vote safely," he posted on Twitter.

Recommendations

The ONPE urged voters to use face mask properly, covering the nose and mouth at all times, otherwise they will be prevented from entering the voting stations.

Voters' body temperature shall be measured at entrance, and anyone with a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and above will be refused admission.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer shall be distributed to electors for the disinfection of their hands and a sanitizing footbath mat shall be used to clean their shoes.
