Peru: Superfoods to be displayed at BioFach 2020

15:22 | Nuremberg (Germany), Feb. 12.

Superfoods such as: quinoa, kiwicha, aguaymanto, cacao, coffee, lucuma, camu camu, chestnut, maca, and sacha inchi make up the selection of the best organic products that Peru showcases at BioFach 2020 —the important world fair of organic food held in Germany on February 12-15.

This was reported by Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), which leads the Inca delegation —made up of 300 businesspeople who participate at BioFach.

Peruvian products aguaymanto, cacao, coffee, camu camu, chestnut, ginger, kiwicha, quinoa, lucuma, maca, and sacha inchi are promoted under the Superfoods Peru brand, highlighting the nutritional properties that benefit their consumers.

Likewise, efforts are undertaken to make known the Inca country's potential as a supplier of organic coffees. Within this framework, tasting sessions focused on Peruvian ingredients are held.

This participation is part of a multi-channel strategy, which aims to properly position the Peruvian offer in world markets and show a presentation according to the new image of PromPeru, through its offices abroad and the promotion of the country's tourist, as well as gastronomic attractions.

It added that the Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex), the Swiss Imports Promotion Program (SIPPO Peru), and the Regional Government of Huancavelica are part of the Peruvian delegation attending the fair.

Europe remains the main destination for Peru's organic products. The Netherlands (23%), Germany (7%), and Belgium (6%) constitute the main markets.
