Peru successfully concluded its participation as the Sustainable Partner Country at the Future Tourism Congress, the
Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PromPeru) reported on Wednesday.
This event took place from January 19 to 21, within the framework of the major tourism trade fair CMT Stuttgart 2026.
Sustainability, social responsibility, and long-term viability will shape tourism in the coming years.
In this context, Peru was named Partner Country, as few destinations combine cultural richness and biodiversity with a sustainable approach as authentically.
This is underpinned by solid governance, a clear regulatory framework, and the renewed appreciation of local community traditions, grounded in a worldview that sees human beings and nature as an inseparable whole.
The congress aims to bring together stakeholders from tourism, politics, science, and technology to develop innovative and practical solutions that make the sector more responsible and inclusive.
Peru stood out at the congress for its content quality and dialogue capacity, showcased through cultural presentations and exhibitions highlighting the joint efforts of its public and private sectors, which make the sustainable viability of regenerative tourism experiences possible.

As for CMT Stuttgart 2026, held from January 17 to 25, Peru took part with a stand that provided tourism information to the German public.
The country also enhanced the cultural program with daily performances of traditional Peruvian dances on the main stage.
CMT attracts more than 260,000 visitors each year, cementing its position as one of the leading tourism trade fairs.
Participation in events such as the Future Tourism Congress and CMT Stuttgart reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), through PromPeru, to promoting responsible inbound travel.
This approach plays a key role in the Peruvian economy, generating a positive impact across the industry and fostering more equitable and sustainable development in local communities.
