09:04 | Lima, Jan. 20.

Revenue to the Peruvian State generated by hydrocarbon production (gas and oil) totaled US$1.077 billion during the January–December 2025 period, Perupetro reported.

This figure reflects the sector's importance and its significant contribution to the country's economy.

Of the total, US$558 million corresponded to natural gas production, US$317.53 million to natural gas liquids, and US$202 million to oil production nationwide.

In December 2025, royalty revenues totaled US$82 million.

Of this amount, US$46 million came from natural gas production, US$24 million from natural gas liquids production, and US$12 million from oil production.

A royalty is a form of legally-mandated compensation that companies must pay to the Peruvian State in exchange for the right to exploit the country's hydrocarbon resources (oil and gas).

Royalties are calculated based on the production value, using the royalty percentage established for each contract.

Between 1993 and December 2025, hydrocarbon production generated a total of US$27.375 billion in royalties.

It is worth noting that oil production during 2025 stood at 44,150 barrels per day, up 8.7% year on year.

Natural gas output remained unchanged at 1,353 million cubic feet per day, whereas natural gas liquids production totaled 73,326 barrels per day, down slightly by 6%.

Perupetro is a State-owned company under private law tasked with administering hydrocarbon resources to promote their sustainable exploitation for the country's benefit.
