Peru shows solidarity with China after plane crash

The Republic of Peru expressed its deep solidarity with the Government and citizens of the People's Republic of China for the loss of human lives following a China Eastern Airlines plane crash, the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported on Tuesday.

Similarly, the Peruvian Government expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

Last Monday, a China Eastern Airlines plane (Boeing 737-800) crashed with 132 people on board, with no survivors or black boxes reported yet.

The aircraft was traveling between the cities of Kunming and Guangzhou. It had taken off at 1:15 p.m. (local time) on Monday before crashing in Guangxi at 2:38 p.m. (local time).

At the moment, no official source has clarified if foreign citizens were on board.
