The
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday received the
Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Mathias Cormann, in a meeting in which the Head of State reaffirmed Peru's commitment to the values of this organization.
Likewise, Peru's firm willingness to continue with the accession process was reaffirmed, in order to achieve high standards of public governance, which will guarantee development, equal opportunities, and well-being for citizens.
The meeting was held today at 3:30 p.m. at the Government Palace and saw the participation of Ministers
Ana Cecilia Gervasi (Foreign Affairs) and
Alex Contreras (Economy and Finance), as well as other representatives of the international organization.
This gathering took place within the framework of the release of the Economic Survey of Peru 2023, which is the first economic review of the country as part of its accession process to said organization.
Mathias Cormann is leading a OECD delegation visiting the country from September 26 to 28.
During its stay in the country, Peru will be able to reaffirm the values shared by OECD members, such as the value of democracy and the values of open and competitive economies, among others.
Moreover, Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi affirmed that the presence of Cormann is of the greatest relevance and significance because it reflects the support of the organization and its member countries for Peru's accession process.
