The Second Provincial Corporate Prosecutor's Office in Lima Specialized in Corruption Crimes by Officials carries out a search operation at the properties of former Presidential Office Secretary-General Bruno Pacheco and businesswoman Karelim Lopez for the alleged crimes of influence peddling and aggravated collusion.

The operation —led by Prosecutor Karla Zecenarro— investigates alleged acts of corruption linked to the public tender for the "Construction of the Tarata Vehicle Bridge over Huallaga River, Mariscal Caceres province."

It had been called by Provias Decentralizado, and the project was granted to Puente Tarata III Consortium —linked to Karelim Lopez.

Provias Decentralizado is an executing unit of the Transportation and Communications Ministry attached to the Deputy Ministerial Transportation Office.

Supported by police officers, raids are carried out on various properties where documents, electronic devices, and objects of interest for the investigation (cell phones, USB drives, computer equipment, notebooks, and electronic storage devices, among others) are seized.

According to various news outlets, the search warrant includes the homes of tendering committee members who gave their approval to the public work linked to Lopez: Victor Valdivia and Edgar Vergara.

The properties of businessmen George Peter Pasapera and Hector Pasapera are also intervened, as well as of Termirex Company, which was part of Puente Tarata III consortium —the one that was awarded the contract by Provias.

The simultaneous operation is carried out in the Lima districts of Breña, Pueblo Libre, Rimac, Miraflores, San Miguel, Surquillo, La Molina, Comas, San Isidro, and Surco.
