Peru: Presidential candidate Rosario Fernandez casts vote

Presidential candidate Rosario Fernandez, representing Un Camino Diferente (A Different Path), cast her vote at an educational institution in the northern city of Trujillo on Sunday.

Fernandez Bazan voted at Educational Institution 80820 Victor Larco, located at 1186 Las Gaviotas Avenue.

The candidate arrived at the polling place accompanied by some supporters to take part in the electoral process.

According to the electoral roll of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), more than 27 million Peruvians were eligible to exercise their right to vote at 92,766 polling tables nationwide, in a process marking the return to a bicameral Congress.

In this electoral process, voters had to elect the President of the Republic, vice presidents, as well as members of the bicameral Congress (Senate and Chamber of Deputies), and representatives to the Andean Parliament.

As reported, the 2026 election day began on Sunday at 7:00 a.m. nationwide and concluded at 6:00 p.m., during which citizens were able to go to the polls to elect new national authorities.
