Presidential candidate Roberto Sanchez, representing Juntos por el Peru (Together for Peru Party), cast his vote as part of the 2026 General Elections on Sunday.

The candidate for the Presidency of the Republic went to his polling station located at Maria Reiche School in Lima's San Borja district.

In the morning, Sanchez shared the traditional election breakfast with his parents and relatives, along with candidates for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies from his party, outside Barbadillo Prison in Lima's Ate district, where he went to visit former President Pedro Castillo.

"The results will be received, as appropriate, at our party headquarters located on the 200 block of Guzman Blanco Avenue (Cercado de Lima)," he said.

The 2026 electoral day began this Sunday at 7:00 a.m. across the country, with more than 27 million Peruvians expected to head to the polls until 6:00 p.m. to elect new national authorities.

The process includes the installation of 92,766 polling tables nationwide.

In Metropolitan Lima and the Constitutional Province of Callao, 2,260 polling places were set up, mainly in schools and universities.

During this election day, citizens will elect the President of the Republic, vice presidents, as well as representatives to the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, and the Andean Parliament.
